I don’t usually stray outside my theme of trying new experiences, but while I was at the BlogHer conference in New York City (a new experience for me!), I met a friendly woman named Melissa.  I sat next to her at breakfast and asked her to tell me about her blog.  She sheepishly explained that she was not a blogger, she was one of Dr. Harvey Karp’s employees.

“Harvey Karp?” I asked incredulously.

“Yes, you know him?” she replied.

I explained that his book, The Happiest Baby on the Block, was the best baby book I had ever read.  Using his theory of the 5 S’s:  swaddle, side, shh, swing, and suck was my method of getting my children to sleep when they were babies.  As a new mom, I was completely clueless about what to do with a newborn.  That book was a lifesaver for me.

When Melissa asked if I’d like to host a giveaway, I decided to jump on the opportunity.  I love The Happiest Baby on the Block so much.  Perhaps I could help one of my readers with a giveaway.

I was thrilled when I received a free copy of The Happiest Baby on the Block book, The Happiest Baby Guide to Sleep book, the Happiest Toddler on the Block DVD, and The Happiest Baby Super Soothing White Noise CD to give away to one of my lucky readers.

I have to admit I have never tried the Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep since it is recently published, and I no longer have babies.  But, I really wish this book was around when my children were younger.  This book has practical advice, and it includes information on helping children up to age 5.
