52 Brand New is proud to be a participant in Memetale’s Readathon 2012. I read to my children everyday and they love to read on their own. As a reading specialist, I know how important this is to their overall academic development. When Memetales was looking for mom bloggers to participate in their Readathon, I jumped at the chance. Just like anyone else who registers, I was given free books to read online.
So, how does it work? Easy! You register at Memetales and get 20 free books to read until July 28. They can be read on your computer or you can download them to your iphone or ipad. You can even print out certificates once your child has read each book.
I hope you’ll go to Memetales and register today. Reading is something I am passionate about, and I hope to instill a love of reading in my children. How does this connect to our project about trying a new experience each week? I strongly believe that reading can take you places you may not have an opportunity to visit. You can experience different cultures, go to different places, and visit people who you may not be able to meet in real life. Sometimes vicarious experiences can be just as life changing as real ones!

What a great challenge. I remember back in my day signing up for reading challenges in the summer. But we were old-fashioned and read books, not ebooks. I get a kick when I see a kid reading on an ebook.
Sounds fantastic! We might just look into that we love reading here too!!
Great idea! It is very important for children to learn literacy early in life. Can’t wait to read what happens!
I absolutely love reading to my kids and they love it too! They are still too young to read on their own, but I am confident they will love it when the time comes.
